For the book worms of chat!

Here is a post you can give your opinions on books you have read.

If you wanting a heart warming animal story then try reading Pollyanne who is a donkey that was saved by the Island Farm Donkey Sanctuary in England.

She goes from a miss treated donkey to finding her place in life as a diva on the Westend in several operas. Also has appeared on the Midsommer Murders series and a picture shoot in vogue.

A light enjoyable read.

Yay booookkksssss.

Sounds like a good book!

Here three books:

1. Emma Donoghue - Room
This book is about a little boy called Jack who has been locked up in room for his entire life with his mother. He has never seen the world, but perhaps that'll change soon. You see the whole story through his eyes, so the word-choosing is quite simple.

2. Donna Tartt - The Secret History
This book is one of my favorites and it's difficult to describe what it is exactly all about, since there happens way too much! It tells the story of a closely knit group of six Classics (Greek) Students. The main character of the story, Richard Papen, tells about this 'mysterious' group and about a murder in the group. I can't explain it better lol. There just happens way too much and it's quite difficult to explain. Just read it!

3. Ken Kesey - One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest
I guess this one is quite familiar with most of the people. It's about a mental hospital. The Big Nurse Ratchet rules her ward with a strict, unbending routine. Suddenly a new patient arrives. Everything will change, since he battles Nurse Ratched and the ward regime. It's quite a funny book in my opinion. Worth to read it Smile

PostSubject: Chicken Soup for the Soul Series    Book Club Icon_minitimeSat Mar 09, 2013 3:42 pm

Chicken Soup for the Soul books are great! They are a series of books which are collections of short stories about events that shape peoples lives, moments in time that people share.

They usually have a theme like Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul, Chicken Soup for a Woman's Soul etc and of course the one I am currently reading is Chicken Soup for the Gardeners Soul (who would have guessed huh!). Its a collection of 101 stories to sow seeds of Love, Hope & Laughter.

All Chicken Soup for the Soul books should be read with a box of tissues on hand as you can really connect with your sensitive side in sharing some of other peoples life experiences.

Most of the books come with little pearls of wisdoms in the form of little poems or sayings here a couple:

1) Never look down on someone, unless you are helping them up.
2) Although the world is full of suffering, it is full also of the overcoming of it - Helen Keller
3) The best things that can come out of the garden are gifts for other people - Jamie Jobb
4) What is a friend? A single soul dwelling in two bodies. - Aristotle
5) Let us be grateful to people who make us happy; they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom. - Marcel Proust
6) A strong positive mental attitude will create more miracles than any wonder drug. - Patricia Neal

Kind hearts are the garden,
Kind thoughts are the roots,
Kind words are the blossoms,
Kind deeds are the fruits. John Ruskin
